Gov. Bello planning to frame me up for gun Running – Akpoti cries out…lead

The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Kogi Central senatorial district candidate, Barrister Natasha Akpoti, has alleged that Kogi State governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, was planning to frame her up for the murder of Ojo Enesi, one of her supporters, that was allegedly killed by suspected APC thugs two weeks ago at Obeiba in Okehi local government area of the state.

Akpoti, who stated this on her Facebook page on Wednesday, said masked gun men in military uniforms had stormed the residences of two of her supporters the previous night.

“At midnight, masked gun men in military uniforms stormed the residences of two of my supporters-: Friday Ovoro, who was shot in the leg and dragged away in the presence of his wife, David Otori, who was absent when the attackers stormed his house, was later whisked away with his aged father, but was released after two hours”.

Further, the SDP candidate also alleged that the intention of the state governor was to force a confessionary statement from Friday so that she can be implicated and arrested.

“Reports reaching me are that this was a ‘joint task operation’. Their intention is to force a confessionary statement from Friday so I would be roped in and be arrested”

However in swift reaction, the Director General, Media and Publicity to the state Governor, Mr Kingsley Fanwo, said the Governor is too preoccupied with governance to start thinking of framing anyone up, saying “If she is clean, she should not worry about anything against her”.

Fanwo said the Governor has no problem with anyone, stressing that he is the leader of the state and he won’t relent in fighting criminals and criminality.
