The elated governor of Bauchi State, Muhammed Abdullahi Abubakar,  has promised to bankroll the continental engagement of Wikki Tourist, the state owned football club if it can win a continental ticket at the ongoing 2014/2015 Nigeria Professional Football League’s season.
Gov. Abubakar who watched his boys on Sunday cruised to a comfortable 2-0 defeat of  Dolphin FC in week 36 games played across the country could not hide his excitement as he announced to the players and officials of Wikki that his government will not rest from supporting the team as long as the boys continue to make the state proud.

Admin. Secretary of Wikki Tourists FC, Alhaji Ahmed Tijjani Suleiman said that the visit of the state governor during the encounter against Dolphin FC was a morale booster to the players. He therefore, dedicated the victory to the number one football supporter of the state as well as their fans.

“It was really a morale booster to the players when they spotted Gov. Muhammed Abubakar at the spectators’ stand watching the game on Sunday. His presence really gingered the boys and they got the three points at stake.”
“His Excellency has promised to sponsor our continental assignment if we pick the continental ticket, and I want to re-assure our supporters that the boys are ready to play in the continent next year so with God on our side, I am sure we are going to make it with our two remaining games to end the season.” He said.
To end the season, Wikki will play away to El-Kanami Warrior of Maiduguri before hosting the defending champions, Kano Pillars at Tafawa Balewa stadium, Bauchi on the last day of the ongoing season.
