Gombe: Gov Inuwa inaugurates state executive council, preaches service with integrity

The Gombe state governor, Alhaji Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has presided over the State Executive Council (SEC) meeting of his second tenure at the government house in the state capital.

The 7th State Executive Council was inaugurated on Tuesday with 17 members, compared to the 21 members in its first tenure.

Addressing journalists shortly after the inauguration, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, said that the governor charged commissioners with helping him deliver on the campaign promises and the agenda of his administration.

He quoted the governor as saying, “I expect that you will serve with integrity, dignity, and deliver. I will hold you to the standard we all promised to the people of the state during our campaign, and your assignment begins immediately.”

The governor also urged the commissioners to join hands in order to move the state to the next level.

Also speaking, the Commissioner of Finance, Muhammad Magaji, said the state has all spheres of human endeavour in view of the fact that the state government will complete the Muhammadu Buhari Industry Pack to explore possibilities and opportunities for citizens.

“We have enormous human and material resources that could be harnessed for the benefit of our people by November, when the second Gombe State Investment Summit will be held in order to give youth the opportunity. 

“We shall also seize this opportunity to assure all investors within and outside the state of our readiness to provide an enabling environment that would make investment in Gombe state very attractive and profitable,” he said.
