Gaidam swears in 15 new commissioners

Governor Gaidam of Yobe state yesterday swore in 15 new commissioners and charged them to ensure compliance with diligence and due process in all official conducts and procedures.
Addressing the new appointees, he asked them to key into the policy trust of his administration’s drive aim at improving the lives of the people.
The governor tasked them to ensure frequent monitoring and supervision of projects under their ministries and should in position to give account of such at all times.
Gaidam said the assignments given to them would continue to be reviewed from time to time and their consideration for continue being members of the council will always be based on their performances.
While congratulating the new appointees, Gaidam thanked the preceding members of the state executive council for their commitment to the course of developing the state.

“I would like to also seize this opportunity to congratulate the newly appointed commissioners on their well-deserved appointments and may I also thank the former commissioners who served under the last administration for the invaluable contribution they made to the development of the state,” he said.
The governor thanked members of the House of Assembly for the speed exhibited in the screening of the nominees, saying that “such shows harmonious relationship existing between the two arms which are in the interest of the state.”
Some of the commissioners who spoke to newsmen shortly after taken the oath promised to justify the confidence reposed in them by working assiduously to ensure the progress of the state.
He, however, noted that there was unofficial reports that some of the IDPs had been relocated to either their host communities or decided to stay with their relations outside the camps which may affect the total expected votes.
