Fresh attack : Fulani herdsmen, Agatu, 80 cows killed in Nasarawa

Nasarawa state Police Command has confirmed the killing of 83 cows belonging to herdsmen by suspected hoodlums in Benue state.
Confirming the incident at Loko, Nasarawa local government of the state, the Police Public Relations officer ASP Ismail Numan said some suspected hoodlums, who allegedly cross over to River Benue in the early hours of Saturday, April 30 attacked the herdsmen settlement and killed their cows.
Numan said also that he led a team of his men together with newsmen to the scene of the incident.

According to him, “we arrived the scene of the incident at about 3.30pm and discovered that the hoodlums had killed no fewer than 83  cows belonging to one Alhaji Bajega Barguma of Adaye area in Loko Development Area of the state and it is under police investigations to fish out the perpetrators “.
The Chief of Loko, Abubakar Ahmed Sabo, said  that there was only one unarmed police officer posted to the whole town with a population of more than 200,000 people.
According to the chief, about 20 youth were killed recently in a clashed involving Fulani herdsmen and Agatu youths and called on the government to provide more security to the area due to incessant attacks.
