FG reveals when Enugu airport ‘ll be ready for operations after ongoing rehabilitation

The Federal Government has assured that the ongoing rehabilitation work at Enugu airport will be over before Easter 2020.

Minister of Aviation Senator Hadi Sirika who inspected the ongoing rehabilitation of the runway of Akanu Ibiam International Airport, in Enugu expressed satisfaction with the progress of work.

Sirika said: “I am very satisfied with the level of work done. According to the programme of work approved and established by us, we are beating the deadline. We will deliver the runway before Easter.

“The runway when completed will have other equipment such as the instrument landing system, airfield lighting, taxiway lighting and every single equipment and system that will enhance safe flight operations.”

Those who joined the inspection includes the Enugu State Deputy Governor, Mrs. Cecilia Ezeilo, Chairman, House Committee on Aviation, Federal House of Respresentatives, Hon. Nnoli Nnaji, the Managing Director of Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), Captain Rabiu Yadudu, the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Engr. Greg Nnaji and the delegation from the South East Governors Forum’ Enugu Airport/Palliative Works Committee, among others
