FCT: NGO trains 8 youth in Gwagwalada

 

 

A non-governmental organisation, Immson Furniture Palace, based in Gwagwalada area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) has trained eight youth on skills acquisition in the area.

The Chief Executive Officer of the NGO, Mr Ibrahim Tijani Adekola, who disclosed this in an interview with newsmen during the graduation ceremony of the youth on Saturday in Gwagwalada, pleaded with the government of the day to assist non-governmental organisations working for accelerated development in the country.

He also appealed to the government at all levels to carry the NGOs along in the scheme of things, noting that they have contributed a lot top the development of the society, especially of empowering the less privileged ones.

Adeloka, therefore, advised the graduands to make use of the knowledge they have acquired to better the society and charged them to be sincere to the people at all times.

On his part, the Chief of Trades in Gwagwalada, Mr Idris Mohammed, appealed to the FCT minister, Nyesom Wike, to allocate land to the NGOs in the territory to enable them secure permanent sites for the training of the less privileged in the society.

Idris Mohammed aso called on traditional rulers, irrespective of their status, to send their wards to the skill acquisition centres to learn trades of their choice.
