FCT: AMAC dissolves revenue board for administrative incompetence

The Chairman of Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) in the federal capital territory (FCT) Abuja, Honourable Christopher Zakka Maikalangu has commenced plans to explore new initiatives to promote revenue generation

According to the council, it is also aimed at mobilising resources to ensure speedy execution of projects in the council.

The chairman while addressing heads of units and staff of the the revenue department, announced the dissolution of the revenue board which he said was aimed at addressing the dwindling fortunes of the council administration.

“The council boss frowned at the lukewarm attitude of some revenue consultants,” he said.

He stressed the need to act now to scale up the revenue generation system because to him, what the FCT residents want is result and not mere grandstanding.

He maintained that AMAC under his watch was prepared to get its priorities right.

In a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on media and public affairs, Kingsley Madaki, the council chairman said that the dissolution was derived from concern to keep those financial systems up and running and protect the data that is very critical to revenue generation.

Part of the statement read, “Maikalangu appreciates the electorate and stakeholders for counting him worthy to be chairman of the council.”

He promised to wake up to his responsibility as a role model that the AMAC and entire FCT residents would be proud of him during his reign.

He explained that the dissolution of the revenue board was part of frantic efforts to fashion the policy that will enhance his administrative competence, responsibility and effective delivery, necessary to revive all companies belonging to the council.
