Etsu Nupe thumbs up Kebbi governor on appointment of Nupeman as CPS

The Etsu Nupe and Chairman Niger State Council of Traditional Rulers, Dr. Yahaya Abubakar, has expressed appreciation to Kebbi state governor, Dr. Nasir Idris for appointing a Nupeman and indigene of Niger state, , Ahmed Idris as his Chief Press Secretary.

The Etsu Nupe presented letter of appreciation to the governor delivered by his emissaries led by the Jakadan Labari Nupe, Muhammad Baba Busu at the Government House, Birnin Kebbi, Thursday.

Dr. Yahaya Abubakar gave an assurance that Ahmed Idris would perform to perfection as customary with Nupe antecedents.

The monarch commended the governor for being positive in enhancing the socio-economic wellbeing of the people of Kebbi state through infrastructural development, renovation of schools, roads as well as provision of free fertiliser and agricultural inputs to farmers towards the attainment of food security in line with the policy thrust of President Tinubu’s administration.

The Etsu Nupe also presented a walking stick fabricated at the famous Masaga Brass Works Bida, and Nupe costumes to the governor.

In response, the governor thanked the Etsu Nupe for his goodwill, describing him as a nationalist, philanthropist and good personality who has continued to play a fatherly role in strengthening the unity of Nigeria and her people.

Dr. Nasir Idris told the Etsu Nupe that the people of Niger and Kebbi states shared affinity and similarities with common border engaged in economic, commercial and social interaction.

“Your governor, His Excellency Mohammed Bago, is my good bosom friend; we are always together, we share similarities,” Governor Idris stated.
