Equity market dips marginally by N4bn

Domestic stock market yesterday sustained its negative trend as benchmark index dipped by 0.02 per cent.

The NGX All Share Index decreased by 7.46 basis points , representing a drop of 0.02 per cent to 47524.38 points from 47524.38 points traded the previous day.

Market capitalisation of listed equities went down by N4 billion  to N25.885 trillion from N25.889 trillion reported on Wednesday.

Investors traded 86.547 million shares valued at N2.090 billion in 3264 deals against 155.181 million shares worth N3.656 billion in 3797 deals.

A review of the transactions showed that Honey Well Flour Mills Nigeria Plc led gainers table during the day, growing by 9.79 per cent to N2.13, Neimeth international Pharmaceutical followed with a gain of 9.52 to N1.38, Fidson Health care gained 7.88 per cent to N9.17, Chams Plc increased by 7.69 per cent to N0.28, Livestock Feeds up by 6.80 per cent to N1.10.

On the contrary, UACN recorded the highest loss during the day, dropping by 9.76 per cent to N9.25,Geregu trailed with a drop of 9.02 per cent to N110.00, Lasaco Insurance fell by 6.67 per cent to N0.84, Cornerstone Insurance dipped by 5.45 per cent to N0.52, Champion Breweries down by 3.33 per cent to N3.48.
