Encourage diaspora youth to invest, Dabiri tells govs wives

The chairman of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM) , Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has called on first ladies to use their roles and status to challenge and encourage youth to participate in the running of government as well as help convince youth in the diaspora to invest in the country.

She said there is the need for youth to positively engage in dialogue with them any time first ladies travel out of the country.

Erewa noted this in a paper presentation at the African First Ladies for Peace Mission (AFLPM) seminar in collaboration with the office of the First Lady of Nigeria and CTP International (UK-Nigeria) for wives of executive governors in the country, titled “Engaging Diaspora Youth: Lessons from recent events and the role of the First Lady”  Saturday in Abuja.

She further said such dialogue will foster good relationship with the youth and whenever the need arises, advice, mediate and convince the youth when it comes to issue of development.
