Ebonyi: Umahi to swear-in more council members

Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi state would Wednesday swear in more of Executive council members, bringing the their numbers to 83.

This would be against the 70 Exco members he had in his first tenure.

Umahi made this Known on Tuesday while swearing in the last batch of Senior Special Assistants and Special Advisers (SSAs/ SAs) which brings the number of SSA/SA to 57.

He also sworn in the chairman/members of Ebonyi state Secondary Education Board at the Exco chambers government House Abakaliki .

The Governor also seized the opportunity to call for establishment of security bond between the state and commercial banks.

His said: “This appointment is not a patronage because in the first appointment there was no performance at all.

I removed the former Education chairman because there was no performance at all at the secondary education board.

“There was literally no impact at the secondary education board the same thing with the UBEB I am sure they didn’t understand their job.

“I expect the SSG and SSAs on security to float a security bond where banks could contribute in.

“Bankers here are very wicked ooh, Very wicked people, we say they should give us pick up van not even one, we have to float the security bond and go to them one by one”.

“Tomorrow we will inaugurate thirteen coordinator and twenty six commissioners , this is the first it kind every local government has two commissioners,” he said.
