DSS investigating alleged attack on police personnel in Osun

The Department of State Services (DSS) has said the service was investigation the alleged attack on a Police Corporal in Osun state leading to his death.
DSS Public Relations Officer, Dr. Peter Afunanya, in a press statement, Wednesday in Abuja, said: “The attention of the Department of State Services (DSS) has been drawn to the incident that led to the death of a Police Corporal in Osun state.

Consequently, the Service and the Police are jointly investigating the matter.”
Afunanya said,  “The public should be rest assured that it will not condone any acts of indiscipline or injustice. It therefore calls on the media and other stakeholders to exercise patience and await the outcome of the investigation.”


Blueprint checks indicate that the deceased policeman, Corporal Rauf Fawale, was beaten to stupor by one David Olowoporoku and two other personnel of the DSS.
The officer, who was said to have sustained injuries to his head, was rushed to the hospital for treatment but he gave up the ghost.


Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police in Osun, CP Olawale Olokode, has demanded that the DSS, Osun Command, should to produce the officers who beat the officer leading to his death.


The Police Spokesperson for Osun state, DSP Yemisi Opalola, in a press statement said CP Olokode had met with the Director of DSS, Osun Command and demanded that the alleged killers of Corporal Fawale, who until his death was working at Dada Estate Police Station in Osogbo, be fished out.
