Domestic equity gains N88bn

Domestic equity on Thursday closed in a bullish run, appreciating by N88 billion as gains recorded by Geregu Power, Dangote Sugar others boosted activities in the market.

Market capitalization of listed equities increased by 0.29 per cent to N30.326 trillion from N30.238 trillion reported on Wednesday.

The NGX All Share Index also appreciated by 161.63 basis points to 55670.24 points from 55508.61 points reported the previous day.

A review of the Investment showed that SUNU Assurance led gainers table in percentage terms during the day, appreciating 10 per cent to N0.44 per unit, Dangote Sugar followed with a gain of 9.94 per cent to close at N29.35, Mcnichols added 9.72 per cent to close at N0.79 per unit,Geregu Power Plc gained 9.02 per cent to close at N325.00 while Nascon increased by 8.93 per cent to close at N12.20 per share.

On the other hands, Sovereign Trust Insurance recorded the highest loss in percentage terms, shedding 10 per cent to close at N0.27 per share, Academy Press trailed with a drop of 9.38 per cent to close at N1.16 per unit, Transnational Corporation of Nigeria dipped by 7.97 per cent to close at N1.27 per share, Chams Plc down by 7.14 per cent to close at N0.26 per share, NGX group fell by 6.55 per cent to close at N27.10 per unit.

Investors traded 206.110 million shares valued at N3.259 billion in 4385 deals against 565.822 million shares worth N6.578 billion exchanged hands the previous day in 4340 deals.
