While parading the suspects before news men at the state police headquarters Ilorin, Odama took time to explain to journalists the functions of the various exhibits recovered from the suspects who also made confessional statements to the crime.

Refering to one of the recovered exhibits, the CP said, “This is a magic cake. When a lady eats this cake, no more menstruation and pregnancy.”

Pointing at another exhibit called ‘Nature sponge’ with a special soap, the CP said the suspects confessed that they use the exhibits to have bath in order to renew their money saying, “Only God knows what they use to preppare the soap, may be it even contains human flesh.”

He warned ladies in Ilorin and beyond to be wary of young chaps flounting ill- gotten wealth around in order not to fall victim of their crime.

According to him, “I want to warn all the girls in Ilorin and Kwara state in general to be very careful who they are following because these male university students looking handsome and supposedly rich can be very dangerous.

“Some of them are alleged cultists, armed robbers and ritualists all rolled up in one. They use iPhones of N1.5m to N2m and drive G-Wagon and other expensive cars about,” he added.

The CP, who said majority of the students involved in these crimes don’t take these things home, advised parents to always check on their wards and verify their academic status from the schools authority.

“Our experience has shown that majority of their parents are unaware of the kind of lifestyles their children live in school. They don’t take these expenses items and cars home. They only use them in school and the towns where the school is located.

“Parents need to visit their wards in school, know their friends and enquire about their academic status from the school authorities. Some of these students have been rusticated,” he added.

Why I videotaped female students naked — Cultist

Similarly, the police also paraded a suspected cultist by name Ayodeji Michael who derives pleasure in stripping female students and videotape them in the process.

The suspect, a 300-level student of Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete was arrested alongside one John Adebisi Oyeyi ‘m’ and Abednego Sanni for criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, kidnapping, assault, causing grievous hurt, attempt to commit homicide, robbery and being members of secret cult.

Parading the suspect, the CP described Michael as very ‘dangerous’.

“This particular one (Michael) is very dangerous; he is an armed robber, a cultist and a ritualist. He would break into the students’ hostel, collect their money with a knife and at gunpoint and beat his victims with a cutlass while asking them to also transfer money to his account.
“But if they go to a female hostel, they would tell the girls to undress and film them in their state of nakedness,” Odama has said.
“If not becauae your are fasting, I would have shown you vIdeos of different girls on his phone.”

On how they were apprehended, Odama narrated that, “On 22/03/2023, the above mentioned case was received based on distress call received from concerned citizen about some hoodlums suspected to be members of secret cult. The suspects’ invaded Doam Suite Hotel, Tanke Area Ilorin attacking occupants and robbing them of their valuable items. Detectives from Anti-cultism Unit were drafted to the hotel, where the suspects were arrested.

“Investigation conducted revealed that the suspects forcefully transferred about one million naira from the various accounts of the occupants to their bank accounts. While one Isah Abdulkareem was rescued from where he was kept after being kidnapped and the sum of N150,000 demanded as ransom.

“Investigation equally revealed that the suspects belong to Supreme Viking confraternity. “Investigation is on-going with a view to arresting other fleeing members of the cult group.”

But speaking with journalists during the parade, the 23-year-old suspect who denied that he is into kidnapping claimed that he was arrested at the hostel of his girlfriend.

“What happened was that there was a robbery incident in the morning at the same hostel and they thought I was the one behind it.

“I was there for two things: to assist my pals in collecting money from a debtor and also teach my ex-girlfriend a lesson for cheating on me.

“So I took some bike men to the place and ordered him to be beaten with knives and cutlasses in his back to get the money back from him. Because I couldn’t handle him alone, I had to take him to the hostel.

“I don’t do kidnapping but I collect money from victims and also order transfers to my account,” he said.

Asked why he filmed his female victims, Michael said, “This particular student was my ex and she was on wrapper when I entered her room. Shocked to see me, she was asking what I was doing there and out of fear, the wrapper fell off her.

“But I wanted to instil fear in her to know that what she did was wrong because she collected money from me and cheated with another person.”

Having known the consequences of his action, he pleaded on the authorities to have mercy on him in the case vs the state government.
