Dear northern governors

I trust this message finds you in good health and high spirits. I write to earnestly bring to your attention the pressing needs of the people in your respective states, particularly in the light of President Bola Tinubu’s allocation of N50 billion support fund to each state to invest in critical areas of our nation.

It is of paramount importance to remind you that the responsibilities bestowed upon you by the electorate are not merely to enact your preferences but to bring relief and development to the public, especially during these challenging times in our country.

The president said funds have been disbursed to each state to provide relief packages due to the prevailing economic challenges, including inflation. However, it pains me to acknowledge that many citizens continue to endure immense suffering due to the removal of subsidies, affecting both civil servants and marketers.

I implore you, esteemed governors, to distribute palliatives not among your political associates or supporters but among those who are truly suffering and in dire need within your respective states, especially in rural communities. By doing so, you will earn both worldly and heavenly rewards, as promised by Allah.

I would also like to bring to your attention the matter of public transportation. The president has announced the introduction of cheaper, safer Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses as a solution to the challenges posed by subsidy removal.

I commend the efforts of governors like Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno state, Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, and the governor of Sokoto for taking the initiative to provide CNG buses in their states. These buses have alleviated the burden of subsidy removal, allowing people to commute to their workplaces and markets at reduced fares.

I sincerely urge the remaining governors to follow the example set by their counterparts in improving public transportation with CNG buses.

In conclusion, I extend my best wishes and prayers to our governors, the president, and our beloved nation, Nigeria.
