Customs arrest 2 trucks loaded with smuggled gas cylinders in Katsina

The controller of the zone, Mr Mustapha Sarki-kebbi, stated this in a chatm with newsmen over the weekend  in Katsina.

He said  the vehicles were arrested along Jibia-Agangaro road, Jibia local government area of Katsina state, one week ago.

Sarki-Kebbi said since the country borders were closed, items coming from neighbouring countries would be arrested.

He said the arrest was for security and safety reasons of the citizens, adding  that the cylinders have lifespan, and that criminals use them to kill people.

The controller also said that the command arrested another truck carrying 678 bags of NPK fertilizers.

He said  the government had banned importation of NPK fertilizers into the country and added that such fertilizers were banned into the country because criminals use it to kill people.
