Corps members urged to be job creators


The Anambra state Coordinator, Nigerian Youth Social Corps (NYSC), Mr Kehinde Aremu, on Wednesday, enjoined corps members deployed to the state to utilise experiences garnered during their three weeks camping and Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) programme in establishing Small and Medium Scale enterprises (SMEs).
Aremu, while speaking at the closing ceremony of the 2019 Batch C (stream II) orientation course held at NYSC permanent Orientation camp in Umuawulu/Mbaukwu in Awka South LGA, explained that SAED empower participants to become proficient in their chosen career, successful entrepreneurs and captains of industry.


According to him, the 1057 members deployed for the Batch C (stream II) were prepared physically and mentally, and further posted to various sectors including health and education in line with the development trajectory of governor Willie Obiano’s led administration.


Governor Willie Obiano, represented at the event by Secretary to the State government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, while thanking the NYSC for posting medical personnel to the Primary Health care centres, assured the state government support to improve the welfare of the corps members.
The governor further approved for the installation of street lights, construction of intern roads, landscaping and other facilities in the newly established permanent orientation camp.
