Confab: Accord Party rejects Ladoja’s nomination

Accord Party (AP) has opposed the inclusion of former Governor Rashidi Ladoja of Oyo state as delegate representing the party at the National Conference.
It said that the development was a ploy by “enemies of progress in the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to embarrass the leadership and members of AP”
Ladoja was among the list of delegates recently published by office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation.

However, AP, in a press statement issued at the end of its National Executive meeting (NEC) in Benin City, rejected the inclusion of the former governor  and erstwhile National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Nalado, as its representatives;  pointing out that the SGF embarked on an exercise it would soon regret.
This statement said this was contained in a communiqué endorsed by Rev. Isaac Adeniyi and Dr. Samson Isibor,  National Chairman and Secretary respectively.

“Alhaji Nalado and Rasheed Ladoja are not, and can never, be credible representatives of AP to the National Conference, as they have since lost the integrity and membership of our party, through expulsion, in line with  AP’s constitution,” it said.
The party explained that the SGF went ahead to publish the names of the erstwhile party members, even though it had sent-in its nomination list.

“We see the action of those who included their names into the list as  delegates;  as an attempt to cause division and crisis among our members and therefore should be ignored completely.
“Accord Party wish to state our resolve to take necessary legal action against the office of the Secretary to the Federal Government of Nigeria (SFG) if the anomalies leading to their inclusion into the list are  not urgently ratified,” it added.
