CNPP to FG: Find solution before insecurity consumes us

The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) has called for “a pragmatic approach in solving the insecurity challenges bedeviling Nigeria,” and urged the federal government to find a solution “before the challenge consumes the country.”

It also urged Nigerians to reflect on the precarious situation they find themselves as a country, noting that the nation “is bedeviled with insecurity at a scale that can be likened to internal war tilted to the advantage of bandits and Boko Haram zealots, due to the ineptitude of successive governments in the nation.”

Chairman of CNPP Adekunle Rufai Omo-Aje in his Easter massage to Nigerians in Kaduna on Friday said, “Our farms are desolate while we live in fear in towns and cities. Government has failed to protect our citizens from the scourge of these outlaws who has held us to ransom for many years.

He said: “We need to have a pragmatic approach in solving this hydra headed problem before it consumes our nation. The Conference of Nigeria Political Parties believes that the ruling party is bereft of ideas to help this nation out of its security challenges, a nation where some of her citizens now sleep with only one eye closed while majority does not sleep at all is a nation in pains.

“We, as Conference of Nigeria Political Parties, propose the following as panacea to our security problem; sincere use of our security apparatus; provision of employment in all strata of the economy; cheap and affordable credits to help the micro side of our economy and social justice; and complete eradication of corruption in all facets of our lives.

“As we celebrate this holiday, let its significance be our guiding principle as a nation. Let us live in harmony and shame those who promote religion as a divisive mantra to divide our nation.”
