Cleric calls for religious harmony

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ishiba Development and Empowerment Centre (IDEC), Evangelist Elizabeth Praise, has urged Nigerians to avoid tribal and religious conflicts based on sentiments and work together for the unity of the country.

Praise made the call during a thanksgiving and empowerment programme of Pasali community members within Kuje area council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Sunday.

The thanksgiving service tagged: “Charity Begins at Home” was kicked off with the distribution of more than 100 bags of rice to members of the community.

Praise urged Nigerians to understand the fact that the creation and unity of the country “is a divine arrangement by God who is the master planner of any country.”

She called on true men and women of God to be prayerful and imbibe the spirit of giving to the needy and empowering the less privileged in the society, especially in their immediate communities as a civic social responsibility not withstanding religious ethnic differences.

The cleric was joined in the appeal for unity and peace in Nigeria by other prominent clerics in Kuje such as Bishop Harrison and Rev Silas Adamu Sule who both advised church leaders to emulate the philanthropic spirit of Evangelist Praise, by remembering the needy and less privileged.

Residents and members of Kuje community who benefited from the empowerment programme were also full of praise for the philanthropist and urged her to continue with the gesture.
