Christmas: CAN Chair sues for prayers

The Chairman of Christian Associations of Nigeria (CAN), Kano state Chapter, Reverend Samuel Adeyemo, has called for continuous prayers for peace, saying with prayers all the challenges bedevilling the country would be over.

In his message to Christians faithful Friday in Kano, Adeyemo said, “Despite insecurity and economic recession bedevilling the country, we will still celebrate the Xmas festivity because there is hope with prayers, all these challenges will soon be a thing of the past.”

He called on Christians and other people in the state to continue to pray for the sustenance of the peaceful co-existence being experienced in the state.

“We specially condole with the numerous families that had lost their loved ones due to terrorists, killer bandits attacks and Covid-19 pandemic. May God comfort them with peace that surpasses human understanding.

“It is yet another joyous time of Christmas. Truly, it is a mixed feeling of joy because of the times we are in as a nation bedevilled with insecurity, economic recession, killings of innocent citizens by armed bandits, terrorists and kidnappers.

“We have the extremely high inflation that has made virtually everything to be expensive in our nation; it is in these times that we find ourselves this Christmas,” Adeyemo said.

“The message is for us to spend this Christmas praying for the peace of Nigeria that God should put an end to all forms of insecurity and killings by terrorists, bandits, herdsmen and kidnappers.

“It is also the time to extend a hand of love to those around us that cannot afford to buy things to celebrate, simply put a smile on someone’s face and heart this Christmas,” the cleric further stated.
