Breaking: Lift suspension on Channels TV or face legal action, SERAP tells FG

The Socio – Economic Rights And Accountability Project (SERAP) has called on the federal government to immediately lift suspension reportedly slammed on Channels television or face legal action.

SERAP in a statement through its Twitter handle on Monday evening wrote, “We’ve urged President Buhari and the NBC to immediately lift the arbitrary, unconstitutional and illegal suspension and fine of @channelstv purportedly for breaching the broadcast code.

“We’ll take legal action if the decision is not reversed within 48 hours.”

The NBC had suspended and fined channels TV for allegedly using its medium to allow Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) voice out its secessionist views on Nigeria.
