Sir Frank Ibezim of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has emerged winner of Saturday’s senatorial bye-election in Imo North.
On Sunday morning, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Owerri said APC scored 36, 811 votes, while Emmanuel Okewulonu of the Peoples Democratic Party came second with 31, 903 votes.
According to INEC, APC won in five out of the six local government areas while PDP won in one in the senatorial zone.
PDP won in Obowo LGA while APC won in Okigwe, Onuimo, Isiala Mbano, Ehime Mbano, and Ihitte/ Uboma LGAs.
