Bayelsa guber: Oborevwori lauds Diri on infrastructure, drums support

Bayelsa state governor, Douye Diri, Saturday, received a huge boost from his Delta state counterpart, Sheriff Oborevwori, who called on the people of the state to return him for another tenure in the November 11 governorship election.

Oborevwori spoke in Yenagoa when he inaugurated the Prosperity Youth Coalition  secretariat at Kpnasia-Epie, the newly completed Etegwe-Epie Bridge, the upgraded Etegwe-Epie roundabout, the final phase of the dual carriageway Isaac Boro Expressway, as well as the Agilobi Road in Agudama-Epie, all located within the state.

According to him, Diri deserves a second term in office because he has prioritised the security and development of the state, stressing that the governor had demonstrated commitment towards the massive transformation of the state in his first tenure.

Oborevwori highlighted among others the Sagbama-Ekeremor road, the ongoing Nembe-Brass and Yenagoa-Oporoma-Ukubie roads, and the completed phase two of the 10.2km Glory Drive dual carriageway inaugurated in Yenagoa last month by the Sultan of Sokoto as some of the big-ticket projects the Diri-led administration had embarked upon to link communities in the three senatorial districts and boost commercial activities.

“If he is not doing well, I will not come here. I have come here to see, and what I have seen here shows that he deserves a second tenure. So I urge you (Bayelsa people) to support Governor Diri, a man of proven track record of performance. He’s selfless and reliable, with an unwavering commitment to the security, prosperity, and well-being of all Bayelsans.

“Your Excellency, since assuming office, you have prioritized the security and infrastructural development of the state and the creation of an enabling environment for businesses to thrive. Indeed, virtually every sector of Bayelsa economy has felt the positive impact of your administration,” he said.

Congratulating Diri on his achievements, Oborevwori also appealed to Delta indigenes residing in Bayelsa state to support the governor’s second-term ambition, saying he (Diri) is a humble, straightforward, loyal, caring, and dependable servant-leader who is passionate about improving the lot of the people.
