Supporters of one of Alhaji Ahmed Shuaibu who lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Bauchi South bye election for the Bauchi last week yesterday have expressed support to the party’s candidate, Alhaji Lawal Yahya Gumau.
Addressing journalists, Shuaibu campaign coordinators from the seven local governments of Bauchi, Alkaleri, Kirfi, Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro, led by his youth leader, Kabiru Garba Lada, said their resolve to back Gumau was to ensure that the party retains the seat in the red chamber.
According to Lada, if the party loses the position, it would be a minus to its strength in the state and country ahead of 2019 polls.
He alleged that members of the opposition at the National Assembly had been sabotaging President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration by rejecting his bills, opining that the president now needs more loyalists in the legislature to enable him accomplish his mission.
Also speaking, the women leader, Ahmed Shuaibu campaign organization from Dass local government, Hajiya Kyauta Ibrahim Bundot, who reiterated support to President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Mohammed Abubakar and all APC candidates in the next election, appealed to politicians to be helpful to women party members, saying most of them were widows with many children to cater for.
