Bauchi APC restates support for ex-Gov Abubakar

Some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bauchi state under the aegis of M.A. Solidarity Forever have restated their support for a former governor of the state, Mohammed Abubakar, alias M.A., who lost the 2019 election to the incumbent Governor Bala Mohammed of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

It made this known Friday during the official lunch of the group at the state APC secretariat attended by top party officials including its chairman, Uba Nana, his deputy, the director-general APC 2019 campaign organisation, Aminu Danmaliki.

Speaking, the chairman of the group, Abubakar Gabi, said although the former governor lost election and the legal battle at the Supreme Court, they were still behind him as the leader of the party in the state.

“We lost at the 2019 general elections at the Elections Petition Tribunal, Appeal Court judgement and Supreme Court verdicts have all come and gone and, therefore, should be put behind us now.

“Under this circumstance, the only option left for the teeming supporters of the former governor is to pray for God’s guidance towards a better future while unity, understanding, tolerance, and perseverance should be our guiding principle.

Also speaking, Nana said the party “cannot afford to lose Bauchi state in the 2023 general elections; hence the need for all members to remain committed and united.”
