Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed Bauchi has donated N10 million to the families of the 30 persons who were drowned in Kirfi River, Kirfi local government area of the state.
The governor, who announced the donation during a sympathy visit to the area, commiserated with the families of the victims.
Bala expressed deep shock over the incident, constituted a committee comprising commissioners of works and transport and that of local government and chieftaincy affairs, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ibrahim and Abdulrazak Nuhu Zaki as well as the caretaker chairman of Kirfi, Alhaji Bappa Abdu, to ensure the judicious distribution of the donation.
Chairman of Kirfi, Abdu expressed gratitude to the governor for the donation.
The governor was accompanied by an elder statesman, Alhaji Bello Kirfi, Chief of Staff, Government House, Alhaji Abubakar Kari, Head of Service, Alhaji Nasiru Yalwa, PDP chairman, Alhaji Hamza Koshe Akuyam among others.
