Bala donates 3 Bulls to Corps members in Bauchi


Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi state has donated three Bulls to the batch B stream II Corps members deployed to the state for induction into the NYSC scheme.


The Governor made the donation while speaking during the swearing in ceremony of the of the 2019 Batch B stream II Corps members at Wailo.


Governor Bala represented by the Head of Civil Service, Alhaji Nasir Mohammed Yalwa said the three weeks orientation and induction course represent the initial attempt to physically and mentally prepare them for the task ahead.


He explained that over the last 46 years of its existence, the NYSC has proved to be an indispensable tool for national integration, manpower development and socio-cultural tolerance.


Gov Bala said the scheme has continued to provide the forum where the youths of diverse cultural and ethnic background come together and move the bonds of National Unity and cohesion through shared experience.


He directed Ministry of power to expedite action on the vandalised portion of PHCN cables and equipment supplying electricity to the camp with the view to fixing it and linking the camp community to the National grid to enhance security and conducive environment for training.


He reminded them to readjust their lives and build self confidence in order to be able to make the necessary sacrifice, so that we would have glorious tomorrow as leaders of our dear country.


Gov Bala called on them to fully take advantage of the in camp training to learn a new skill or develop an existing one.
Earlier speaking, the state NYSC coordinator, Alhaji Bashir Shehu said a total of 1, 192 corps members were registered comprising of 503 female and 689 males for the batch B stream II.


He said the orientation programme is meant to acquaint them with concept and challenges of self reliance and nation building as well as objective of the NYSC scheme.


Alhaji Shehu warned them that the issue of discipline will not be compromised, hence the need to strictly adhere to the camp rules and regulations which have been codified in the NYSC bye laws.


Also speaking, the Acting Chairman Governing board of the state NYSC, Alhaji Mustapha Zurami urged corps members to subject themselves to the physical and psychological training during the orientation exercise.
