Ayakoro community hails Buhari for appointing Ogbuku NDDC MD

The paramount ruler of Ayakoro Community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, His Royal Highnesses, Chief Righteous Inegbaha, has commended President Mohammadu Buhari for appointing their son, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku as the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).

Chief Inegbagha who gave the commendation during the 65th annual cross over celebration to mark their exodus from the old settlement to the present location, also appreciated the Senate President Ahmad Lawan, the Senate Committee on Niger Delta Affairs, for the thorough process that led to emergence of their son as the Managing Director of the Commission.

The paramount ruler, while recalling the historic movement, said the singular decision taken in 1958 to relocate from the natural disaster prone settlement has been a huge blessing to the entire community.

Chief Inegbagha particularly paid tribute to the first Paramount ruler of the comnunity, HRH Chief Nathan Ogbuku Orioso for his vision, wisdom and demonstration of superior sense of mission that have given rise to a better, attractive, clean and safe environment for the people of Ayakoro, adding tha the memory of all those who took the decision would be continually celebrated.

The Chairman of the Anniversary, Dr. Goodbless Azibapu Eruani (CFR), thanked God for the grace and wisdom bestowed upon the people of Ayakoro who took the decision that has turned out to be a blessing.

Dr Eruani, while pledging to continue to support the community, noted that the relocation was worth celebrating as it signifies the end and beginning of a new community.

Speaking, the Managing Director of the NDDC, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, who is also the Deputy Paramount ruler of the community, thanked President Buhari for all the things he has done for the Niger Delta region.

He assured the people of the community of government’s continuous support in infrastructural development as he makes progress in his new role as the Managing Director of the Commission.

Ogbuku was full of appreciation for the Executive Director, Finance and Administration Major General Charles Airhiavbere and the Executive Director Project MR Charles Ogunmola of the Commission, for accompanying him to mark the anniversary of the biggest event in the history of his Community.
