Army organises quiz competition among schools in Yobe


The headquarters of Sector 2 Joint Task Force (North-east)  Operation Hadin Kai, Monday organised preliminary stage of quiz competition in Damaturu,Yobe state capital.
The quiz competition is part of the non-kinetic approach of Operation Hadin Kai geared towards winning the heart and mind of youth and citizens within the region.               
The commander, Sector 2 Joint Task Force, Major General Mayiranso Lander David Laraso, said the preliminary stage quiz competition was organised simultaneously for public secondary schools across Yobe,  Borno and Adamawa states of the North-east region as  one of the ways the Operation Hadin Kai theatre has planned to interact with students and youth in order to foster harmonious cordial civil-military relationship.  
Represented by the Commander, Sector 2 Signal Brigade, Colonel LA Bello, Major General Lander Saraso, stated that the  the quiz competition is a continuous event that would enable the theatre to receive feedback on how to serve the people better through non-kinetic effort. 
“The school that emerged first position in the preliminary stage quiz is qualified to represent the sector 2 Operation Hadin Kai and Yobe state at the grand preliminary quiz competition which will hold in Maiduguri on 26 October, 2023,” said Saraso.
On his part,Yobe state  Commissioner,  Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Dr Muhammad Sani Idriss, appreciated the effort of the organisers for conceiving and actualising the quiz,  adding that it would go a long way in promoting knowledge among students.     
Represented by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Hamidu A. Alhaji, the commissioner noted that Governor Mai Mala had declared state of emergency on education sector and tremendous success had been achieved considering how devastated the sector is in the state, there is need for concerted effort to revive it.
