Appeal Court: Ohanaeze charges oppositions to work with Nwifuru

The apex Igbo socio-political organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Sunday, called on the opposition parties, especially the governorship candidates during the 2023 general elections to partner with Ebonyi state governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru in the efforts to develop the state.

The group in a statement by its Secretary General, Okechukwu Isiguzoro, congratulated the governor on his victory at the Appeal Court.

He described the victory as a crucial moment for all stakeholders to unite and join hands with the governor to revive the state.

“Ohanaeze Ndigbo, the apex socio-cultural organisation representing the Igbo people, extends its heartfelt congratulations to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on his recent victory at the Appeal Court, which reaffirms him as the rightful winner of the Ebonyi governorship election held in 2023.

“Governor Nwifuru’s victory is also a testament to his dedication and commitment to serving the people of Ebonyi state. Ohanaeze Ndigbo commends his visionary leadership, particularly his human development policies and relentless efforts to uplift the indigenous people of Ebonyi, eradicating poverty and hunger in the state.

“While acknowledging the challengers and opposition political gubernatorial candidates’ legitimate and constitutional rights to appeal any dissatisfaction, Ohanaeze Ndigbo calls upon them to shun the temptation to further appeal the judgment of the Appeal Court to the Supreme Court. Doing so would only result in a wasteful expenditure of time and resources,” he said.
