APM alerts INEC, Nigerians over ‘impostors’ misuse of office

The National Chairman of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), Alhaji Muhammed M. Bagana, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the general public to be wary of impostors claiming to be executives of the party.

Addressing a press conference on Thursday in Abuja, Bagana, said the National Working Committee of the party suspended Yusuf Mamman Dantalle and, Ayodele Oyadaiyi Adebayo, both former National Chairman and Secretary, respectively, “for misuse of office, flagrant abuse of the party constitution and other party instruments of authority.”

He said: “You will recall that our party has been in the news among bloggers, the conventional print and electronic media, as well as the social media since February, 2022, when two-third majority of members of the National Working Committee of our dear party suspended Yusuf Mamman Dantalle and his cohort, Ayodele Oyadaiyi Adebayo, both former National Chairman and Secretary, respectively, for misuse of office, flagrant abuse of the party’s constitution and other party instruments of authority as well as guidelines of effective party administration and management by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

“Such criminal act is condemnable for an ordinary citizen not to talk of the leader of a political party that brandishes integrity, sacrifice, service to the public, moreso serving as platform that seek to bring up leaders for the country.

“Permit to me to express my personal embarrassment and the collective embarrassment of our party members that such a character was the leader of our party, engaging with the general public and even representing us at some point in the Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC).

“We call on the general public this day to see Yusuf Mamman Dantalle as an impostor and not the National Chairman of our party, the Allied Peoples ‘ Movement (APM). His game is up.

Anyone transacting with him on this premise does so at his/her own risk. I therefore declare to our stakeholders, especially, IPAC, INEC, Civil Society Organizations, and other political parties that Yusuf Mamman Dantalle does not represent our party, APM in any capacity whatsoever.

“I want to make a special appeal to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to kindly look at the merits of the Court Order and implement the provisions of the Court Judgement of 20th May 2022 with a view to supporting the entrenchment of our democratic process.”
