Bayelsa state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned it members to be careful not to fall victims of fraudsters, calling on the members of the public to pay certain amount of money to be considered for loan from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural development.
The party warned that the federal government through the ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development or through any other ministry has not rolled out an agricultural loan scheme.

A statement signed in Abuja yesterday by th APC state secretary, Comrade Daniel Marlin, advised the members of the public to know of “such desperate schemers and not fall victim to fraudsters.”
The statement read: “The attention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bayelsa state, has been drawn to a purported agricultural loan being given by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
“We are reliably informed that some cynics are fleecing unsuspecting   members   of   the   public by obtaining cash ranging from N30, 000 to N50,000 with a promise to influence their loan application to success. Victims of the ruse are also asked to create white-elephant Agricultural corporations and open an account with the Agricultural Development Bank and Bank of Agric.”

It added: “To   set   the   records   straight,   the   federal   government, through   the   Ministry   of Agriculture and Rural Development or through any other ministry, has not rolled out an agricultural loan scheme.
“We wish   to warn those   who   are   involved   in these sordid acts   to desist   forthwith as a government known globally for its anti-graft enthusiasm will not tolerate scammers plying their ghastly trade under its cover.
“We call on our members in Bayelsa state and the general public to aid in fishing out the criminals before their actions taint our great party. State Party Chairman, Chief Tiwei Orunimighe, assures that actions are on course to ensure Bayelsans enjoy the dividends of democracy and the change ideals President Muhammadu Buhari initiated in his quest to stand this country upright.”
