APC North East stakeholders welcome Shitu’s defection

Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress in Jigawa East senatorial district have described the defection of Senator Ubali Shitu from the party to the Peoples Democratic Party as a welcome development.
Speaking to newsmen, the stakeholders said the senator has since ceased to be a member of the ruling party because he has not been attending APC meetings at local, state and federal levels.
They said the senator has brought confusion and misunderstanding among the party and its teaming supporters in the senatorial district.
APC chairman in Jigawa East, Alhaji Ango Malam-Madori, said the defection of Ubali Shitu from the party will not affect its chances in the forthcoming elections.
In his speech APC chairman of Hadejia local government, Alhaji Magaji Munkaila said the senator has nothing to show as his achievements since he was elected.
On his part, the former chairman of Hadejia local government, Alhaji Ibrahim Muhammad Jaga, said the senator is not interested in the development of Hadejia emirate.
He said people of Jigawa North will continue to remember Governor Badaru Abubakar for the execution of development projects.
