Sadiq Ango Abdullahi of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has won the Sabongari Federal Constituency after polling 33,616 votes to defeat the incumbent member, Hon. Mohammed Garba Datti of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Hon. Datti, a fourth term member in the Green Chamber, polled 31,737 votes to place second.
Sadiq, who is the son of the Chairman, Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Prof. Ango Abdullahi, won the PDP primaries while in bandits’ captivity after being kidnapped from the Kaduna – Abuja train in March 2022.
The result was declared by Dr. Hashim Suleiman of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.
