Amuneke submits application for Zambia job

Former African Footballer of the Year and ex-international  Emmanuel Amuneke has applied for the vacant Zambia national team head coach job.

Amuneke, who scored both goals in the Super Eagles 2-1 win against the Chipolopolo in the final of the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations last managed the Taifa Stars of Tanzania to the AFCON in Egypt 2019.

The 48-year-old left the role by mutual consent following the Taifa Stars elimination from the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt where they lost all their three group games.

The former Barcelona player guided Nigeria’s U-17 side, the Golden Eaglets to win the FIFA U-17 World Cup at Chile 2015.

He had stints with the likes of defunct Julius Berger Fc of Lagos, Ocean Boys Fc of Yenogoa and Sudanese side Al Khartoum.
