Aliyu Tafi da’s defection to PDP excites Gyunka, Jibrin, others

The defection of Hon Aliyu Bala Ahmed Tafida back to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been described as the best thing that would happen to the party in Nasarawa state.
Making the statement at the weekend during the formal ceremony inducting the former member of the All Progressives Congress into the PDP fold, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees (BOT) of the party, Senator Phillips Gyunka, along with the Zonal Chairman, North-Central, Senator Walid Jibrin, said Tafida’s return was a welcome development.

Tafida announced his defection from the APC to PDP last month.
Others who graced the occasion which took place at the Nasarawa local government council, Nasarawa state were the state chairman of the party, Hon.
Francis Orogu and his Nasarawa LGC counterpart, Alh.
Isa Ewa.
Welcoming the defectors, Sen.
Jibrin said Hon Tafida’s entrance was a blessing to the party, saying to underscore the importance of his entrance, he had to make sure he was personally on ground to grace the occasion.
According to Gyunka, “Today, we now know that PDP is a party of peace, prosperity and tolerance.
We are happy to receive our brother with over 20,000 followers.
“Masses have cried up to God and God has heard their cries.
Come 2019 from councillorship right through to Aso Rock, we will take over.
When I become Governor of the state we will continue from where we were interrupted.
” The National Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, described Nasarawa as a PDP state, adding that the party had no reason not to return to power in the state.
He assured the new entrants of all the rights and privileges enjoyable by other members, saying the present leadership of the party would not impose any candidate on the people.
