Africa Football League: CAF reschedules Wydad vs Enyimba clash

Flight

Due to the Morocco authorities refusing to grant Enyimba charted flight landing permit with the Nigerian club protesting to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) the continental football body has announced a new date for the 2nd leg match between Wydad Athletic Club of Morocco and Nigeria’s representative Enyimba FC in the inaugural African Football League.

According to a press release from CAF, the return leg which was earlier slated for Wednesday October 25th, has now being moved to the next day Thursday, October 26th at the same venue.

The reason for the shift in date is not unconnected to Enyimba’s inability to fly out to Morocco on Monday.

Enyimba contingent did not make the trip to Casablanca as earlier scheduled, after the Moroccan Authorities failed to issue a landing permit for a chattered aircraft from the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

The first leg tie played inside the Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo ended 1-0 in favour of Wydad.
