Ade Bantu shaves his dreadlock of over 23 years

It is often said that uneasy is the head that wears a crown, but in the case of popular Nigerian-German Reggae-Alternative artiste, producer and activist Adegoke Odukoya popularly known as Adé Bantu , who has shaved off his signature dreads, ‘uneasy is the head that wears the dreads’ should best fit.
Bantu shaved his dreads recently after carrying it for 23 years. He posted photos of him having the dreads shaved and his new look on his Facebook page yesterday and wrote; “After 23 years I decided it was time to let go and move on. It wasn’t easy, but hey the only constant in life is change and sometimes we must embrace it fearlessly. ”
His statement above attest to the fact that Ade Bantu who is also a judge on Projectfame, had merely been enduring discomfort all the while he’s been keeping the heavy dreads in the name of being a Rastafarian. It is common for artistes of such genre to keep heavy dreadlocks with the belief that it is the perfect image of a Rastafarian even when it is not really convenient for them to maintain the hairstyle. Most of them often lack the courage to cut off the dreads once they are known with it.
You may recall popular Haiti-born reggae artiste, Wyclef Jean, who some years back courageously got rid of his dreads after many years of carrying it. Wyclef was later quoted as saying that, “Rastafarianism is by heart and not by dreads”
