Adamawa voters urged to guard their votes

Adamawa State Collective (ASC) has called on delegates to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary scheduled for this Saturday not to trade the future of the state and their children for bribe money for votes.
In a statement issued in Abuja, Chairman of ASC, Mr. Musa Ayuba, urged the delegates to collect monies that would be given to them by some of the aspirants that would want to induce them, but should in the overall interest of the state go ahead and vote for Engr. Marcus Gundari.
He stressed that the unwritten gentleman agreement reached for a rotation between the Christians, who are in the majority, and Muslims in the state, had been breached by some forces that “do not mean well for the collective interest of the state.”
He further said that “now that the sacrifice of the Christian majority has been taken for granted by some forces, the people have no choice than to use their electoral strength to do what is most appropriate for the state.”

Ayuba said the experience the people went through in the hands of impeached former Governor Murtala Nyako was enough to last the state a century and should, therefore, not in any way toy with their future and those of children yet unborn.
The ASC said “Ribadu, apart from being forced on the people by the National Chairman of the PDP, Alhaji Adamu Mu’azu, and the Private Principal Secretary to the President, Alhaji Hassan Tuku, lacked the capacity and capability for the position of governor.”
It stressed that “the position of governor of a state is not carried out by propaganda and unwarranted attacks on perceived opponents of the president on unsubstantiated allegations most of the times and later denials.”
“The office of a governor is not for lazy people who depend on the work of others to shine and take glory but one that requires the capacity for hard work. Simply put, a governor must be trusted, dependable, and stable in character and not a political pendulum that swings in every direction.”
It urged Adamawa people to rise to the challenge and “do the needful for the interest of the generality of the people and the future of the state.”
