The senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District on the platform of the People’s Democratic party (PDP) Amos Yohanna, has assured the people of his constituency of quality and inclusive representation in the red chamber.

Senator Yohanna stated this on Monday in an interview with journalists in Abuja.

Blueprint report that Yohanna was sworn in last week following his Appeal Court victory which sacked Sen. Elisha Abbo of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He said he will work with his colleagues in the Senate to enact laws that will benefit Nigerians and his constituents.

According to him: “As you all know, the work of the legislature is lawmaking and oversight, that is how we represent our people. Many people have misconceptions about legislatures.

“I will work with my colleagues to make laws that will benefit the people of Nigeria and Adamawa North,” he said.

“There are so many challenges in Adamawa North Senatorial District. It is an area that has been ravaged by insecurity, there is so much poverty, there are no good roads, the roads are really bad, the issues of education, water and sanitation.

“All these were caused by the insecurity that has ravaged the country for many years.

“For me, I will always seek the support of my colleagues in the Senate to support me enact laws that will bring developments to the people.

“Laws that will make medical care accessible, that will make water and sanitation available , that will enhance the security of the people.

“I intend to be a team player, work with my colleagues. A single legislature cannot achieve anything.

“We also do oversight to ensure that agencies that are responsible for the provision of the things are mentioned do exactly what they were asked to do and as provided for in the law, ” he added.

Speaking further, Senator Yohanna assured his constituents that he will carry them along in order to know what their needs are first hand.

“I will continue to represent the people responsibly, with equity and in doing that I will ensure that every body in that part of the state are united so that they can also come up with their request.
“They will tell you what The need because for me it will be bottom up. I will do this through community engagements, town Hall meetings, so that we will together articulate what they need.
“It will not be where you sit in Abuja and tell the people this is what you need. No, it what they need and that will come from them. This is the style of representation that I intend to deploy.
“Meet with the people, engage them in their communities and let them articulate the needs of the various communities,” he said.
