Adamawa: Foundation distributes food, other items to 30,000 beneficiaries

Moved by the alarming rate of hunger, hardship and frustration being experienced in the country, a non- governmental organisation, Emnamu Global Foundation, has flagged off massive distribution of food and non-food items across the 21 local Government areas of Adamawa state.

The flag-off ceremony which took place in Kala’a, Hong local government area of the state, is targeted at over 30,000 beneficiaries, mainly the poor masses, people living with disabilities and other vulnerable groups, which  attracted a mammoth crowd across all strata of the society.

Speaking at the event, President of the foundation, Mr. Emmanuel Musa, represented by Dr. Akaka Wesley, said the food and non-food items were distributed in line with the Foundation’s objective of bringing succour to humanity, stressing that although this intervention was an annual event, the 2023 exercise represented a unique approach due to the current hardship being faced by the common man.

He reiterated the commitment of the Foundation to keep on with the good work of identifying with the poor masses and expressed serious concern over the alarming rate of suffering in the land, which he described as unacceptable.

According to him, this untold hardship and pathetic situation the masses have found themselves in today is coming at a time when the people of the North-east geo-political zone are yet to fully recover from the effects of insurgency which have devastated the region and its people leaving behind a serious humanitarian crisis.

Also speaking, the national coordinator of the Foundation, Chakukuyada  Godwin  said the intervention would not only be limited to Adamawa state but would  be replicated in other states of the federation.

The District Head of Hong, Babangida Umaru, who spoke on behalf of other traditional rulers, said they had never produced a proud and patriotic son with the interest of his people like Dr. Emmanuel Musa, founder of the Foundation, and called on other wealthy individuals, politicians and elected representatives in the area to emulate him.
