A lawmaker’s achievements in record time

Hon Ebonine Beneth Ozioma is the lawmaker representing Njaba State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly. Just a few months after inauguration, he has become the envy of his fellow lawmakers due to his achievements within a short time. In an interview with CHIDIEBERE IWUOHA, he outlined those achievements.

Empowerment of women

I have done a lot on empowerment of women. I have trained 46 ladies on skills acquisition and afterwards empowered them. It also on going.

Youth empowerment

The youth of the area have also been empowerd. Just a few weeks ago, five sewing machines were give to five of them who learnt tailoring. You know that tailoring is a lucrative business now because there are different designs to choose from. The youth  of the state constituency have also been empowerd in so many other fields of skills acquisition to help them reduce the rising crime rate in the constituency.

Roads rehabilitation

Prior to this year’s Christmas, I decided to rehabilitate all access roads leading to my constituency without waiting for external support. The roads have been graded now. Those coming home for the Christmas celebrations will be happy and be proud of the person representing them in the assembly.

Education

We have been able to pay the WAEC fees of our children and getting ready to pay more in the coming months, with an eye on prospective JAMB candidates.

Health

We have done five surgical operations; three for women and two for men.

Donation of bags of rice to constituents/others

Recently, more than 250 bags of rice were given to my constituents, including the disabled persons.  The largesse was also extended to Njaba staff in the Imo State House of Assembly and other staff to enable them celebrate the Christmas.

Donation of cement:

Fifty bags of cement have been donated to different communities to assist in their community projects while more assistance will be given in future.

Sports

In order to further keep the youth of the constituency out of crime and ensure they use their strength for things that would benefit them meaningfully, two trophies were donated to be vied for with a ₦5million prize money attached to each. One competition is on going and would end this Christmas period while the other would end in January.
