61 abducted as terrorists attack another Kaduna community

Barely five days after bandits kidnapped 287 students and teachers in Kuriga, the bandits struck again on Tuesday as they kidnapped 61 residents of Buda Hausa community in Kajuru local government of Kaduna state.

The bandits stormed Buda Hausa in the early hours of Tuesday when the people were sleeping, shooting sporadically to scare the residents as they went away with 61 people 32 females and 29 males. 

A member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly representing Kajuru Constituency, Hon. Usman Danlami Stingo, while confirming the incident on Tuesday evening said the bandits invaded the community in the early hours of Tuesday, unleashing terror on the community. 

The lawmaker, who raised a motion on the abduction on the floor of the Kaduna State House of Assembly on Tuesday, said those abducted include 32 females and 29 males. “The bandits attacked the community around 12 midnight to 1:00am on Tuesday when residents of the community were sleeping. I raised a motion on the issue today on the floor of the State House of Assembly.”

The Kaduna state Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), ASP Mansur Hassan when a call was put to him on the issue said the network was poor while asking that a text message should be sent to him but he failed to respond to the text message and further calls put to him. 

The bandits had attacked Government Secondary School (GSS) Kuriga and LEA Primary School Kuriga, which are in the same location last Thursday and kidnapped 287 children and teachers  school children from the schools in Chikun local government of Kaduna state.

Also 16 residents of Angwan Auta community in Gonin Gora, a suburb of Kaduna metropolis were abducted when bandits attacked the community about two weeks ago.
