At least four were shot death in an altercation between soldiers and some irate youth who were protesting against the killing of Saf Ron Kulere in Bokkos local government area of Plateau state.
The irate youth had burnt a police station and killed two Fulani in the station.
Following the unrest, a 24 hours curfew had been imposed in the local government area, Operation Safe Haven Media/Information Officer, Captain Ikedechi Iweha,  has said.

The irate youth had on Tuesday burnt down and destroyed lots of herders property, and also blocked the main entrance to the community yesterday.
However, the herdsmen had launched a reprisal attack on Wednesday night leading to the death of one person.

When the State Commissioner of Police, Adekunle Oladunjoye visited the community, he mets the youths who had blocked the main entrance chanting; ‘bamason soja’ (we don’t want soldiers).
It took the CP, Adekunle Oladunjoye minutes to gain entrance into the  community, but were so unlucky as they tried to prevent men of the Operation Safe Haven (OPSH), from leaving the community.
Our correspondent learnt that the Deputy Inspector General of Police  (DIG) (Operations), Habila Joshak and the Senator representing Plateau Central, Joshua Dariye, were in town, but sooner than they left, the youth attacked a police station, killed two Fulani detainees and set others free.

OPSH Media/Information Officer, Captain Ikedichi Iweha, said the soldiers had taken away the Ardo of Bokkos, whom the youth had attempted to lynch.
“They were trying to lynch one of the Ardo’s and we rescued him so they started saying that we are taking side with the Fulani and prevented our men from leaving the community.
“As security agents, we are for everybody, we cannot watch a man being lynched no matter what, but in that commotion, three people were killed and we are investigating the incident,” he said.
