@ 2024 Kaduna conference: Ex-guber aspirant, others advocate disciplined leadership for Nigeria’s progress

 

For Nigeria to make any headway out of the present economic and other challenges it is facing, Citizens must be disciplined, before becoming leaders that can make positive impact.

This was the submission of a former governorship aspirant in Kaduna state Dr. Shuaibu Idris Mikati, while delivering a keynote address at the 2024 Kaduna Leadership Conference, organised by the Institute of Leadership Assessment and Development (ILAD) held at the Kaduna State University (KASU) at the weekend.

Mikati, a former gubernatorial aspirant in the state and a successful Lagos based businessman, blamed the woes Nigeria is passing through on indiscipline.

He explained that if citizens are disciplined, the country would produce credible leadership, that will earn its pride of place in the comity of nations. 

In his remarks, Vice President of ILAD, Professor Silas Linus Lamela, also advised Nigerians to always focus on positive attributes if they want to attain leadership positions. 

The President of Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engr. Musa Nimrod, in his remarks, enjoined prominent Nigerians to always exhibit quality leadership in their dealings with others.

Nimrod was among other personalities conferred with Doctoral Fellow at the Leadership Conference of ILAD.

The Volleyball administrator who was represented by Professor Simon Katung, commended the institute for recognising their contributions towards the growth and development of the country, and called on the fellows to be of best behaviour now that they have become role models in the society.

The Director General of ILAD, Dr Baba Adamu, said the institute is not just a collection of like-minded professionals, but a family that thrives on collaboration, mentorship and the pursuit of excellence.

The leadership conferment are usually issued to distinguished Nigerians who have displayed exceptional leadership qualities within and outside the country.

Chief Judge of Kaduna state, Justice Tukur Mu’azu Aliyu, Dr Umar Musa Abubakar and Dr Jerry Adams, Executive Chairman, Internal Revenue Service, Kaduna state were also among the distinguished Nigerians conferred with the Honourary Doctorate Awards by ILAD.

Others are, Registrar/CEO, Community Health Practitioners Registration Board of Nigeria, Dr. Idris Bashir, Chairman Kaduna State Local Government Service Board, Professor Aminu Ladan Sharehu, Commandant Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), Major General John O. Ochai, Director General Kaduna State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KASUPDA), Dr. Ismail, Umar Dikko, Counsellor to Executive Governor of Kaduna State on Land Matters, Dr. Bulus Audu and others.
