2023: We’ve deployed security, sensitive, non-sensitive materials to all parts of Anambra state – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Friday, said they have deployed both sensitive and non-sensitive materials for Saturday 25, 2023 general elections in Anambra state.

The INEC Residents Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Anambra state, Dr Queen Elizabeth Agwu, who disclosed this in a press conference, assured that the state was secured for their staff, electoral materials, voters and entire populace.

According to Agwu, the Presidential and National Assembly elections would hold on Saturday as planned, just as the State House of Assembly poll would be conducted on March 11, across the 21 LGAs, 326 wards and polling units with registered voters.

“Election will hold everywhere except Polling Units (PUs) where there are zero registrants. The security is intact. We have deployed all the sensitive and non-sensitive materials to all PUs. We don’t want to disfranchise anyone. We are appealing to everyone who have voters cards to come out and cast their votes.

“Don’t be afraid. You are secured. Don’t sit at home and wait for anyone to win. Come out and vote for the candidate you wish to win. The person will surely win if you vote. Do not foment trouble. It is going to be credible, free and fair. The new electoral act is specific with various provisions. If you run foul of the Act, you will be prosecuted,” he noted.
