2023: My governorship aspiration intact – Orbunde

Governorship aspirant under the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Chief of Staff to the Benue state governor, Mr Terwase Orbunde has said his aspiration to rule Benue in 2023 is still intact.

Orbunde in a statement he personally signed in Makurdi Sunday, said it had become necessary for him to clarify and reaffirm that his aspiration to succeed his principal, in 2023 remained alive and intact following calls from friends and associates on why his name was not listed among those Governor Ortom unveiled in Gboko.

According to him, the event in Gboko did not in any way signify that aspirants who were not around, were no longer interested in the race and neither did the governor said those unveiled were only those in the race for the 2023 Benue number one seat.

“Those present at the occasion can recall that the governor did explain that some aspirants were unavoidably absent.

“On that day, my Principal assigned me to represent him at the grand finale of the 2021 Bible Week Celebration of the Bible Society of Nigeria at the Methodist Church of Nigeria, South Bank Cathedral, in Makurdi.

“Subsequent news reports from the event which stated that I indeed represented him at the celebration, from the beginning to the very end, confirm this.

He further noted that the important nature of the assignment required that he be excused from attending the Gboko decamping ceremony at which the preliminary unveiling of Governorship aspirants was made.
