2023: LP hopeful vows to sweep Kaduna South senatorial votes

Against the backdrop of the 2023 general elections, the Labour Party (LP) has expressed confidence of sweeping all the votes of the people of Southern Kaduna senatorial zone.

This was contained in a press release by the Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), anchored by the Kaduna state coordinator Mr Malachy Mathias Gwatyap, in Kaduna.

The statement which declared, “The executives of the party want to tell the whole world that Southern Kaduna is for Labour Party owing to the fact that, it has been accepted wholeheartedly in the area,”

It assured all and sundry of the party’s preparedness to win the election not only in the zone, but in all the positions in the state.

The statement mentioned that “We are here today, to inform you that we have put everything in place, all the things required, all the resources, and we shall win this election at all levels”.

The statement further debunked the insinuation making rounds that the party doesn’t have party structures in the area, stressing that the party has formed structures in all the local governments, wards and units in the zone to ensure total victory in the forthcoming elections.

While urging all the supporters of the party to have confidence of victory, the statement said that the presidential candidate of the party Peter Obi remains the candidate of their choice in Southern Kaduna and Kaduna state, with the promise of the people’s unalloyed support.

“Peter Obi remains our top choice and our most preferable candidate in zone 3, among all the candidates, he is the best, and he is going to win the election with you behind him.” the statement stated.

The statement advises Nigerians to look at the Manifesto of Peter Obi, which contains all it takes to provide the face of quality leadership in the aspects of liberating Nigeria from poverty, insecurity, banditry, corruption and nepotism.

Also speaking at the event, the party’s flag bearer for the seat of governor of Kaduna state Mr Jonathan Asake observed that parties are platforms used by candidates to go into leadership, against which backdrop he informed the people to bear it in mind that Labour Party is the party with the spirit of service endurance volunteering and sacrifice.

Asake observed that the people are yearning and aspiring for a break, for they are tired of bad governance, insecurity and other vices, making things not going well in the country.

“The Labour Party is the party of the Nigerian workers and masses therefore, I am urging all Nigerians to give the party a chance geared towards restoring the lost glory of our country,” he said.

He said the Labour Party was a divine arrangement to change the story of Kaduna State owing to the fact that, as a law maker, he has all it takes to provide quality Leadership in the State that would take it to another level of development.

The candidate promised that the Labour Government if given the mandate, will be based on equity justice and fairness in all nooks and crannies of the State.

Earlier in his address, the Kaduna state chairman of the party, Honourable Awwal Tafoki, appealed to the people of Southern Kaduna to break the syndrome of playing second fiddle of contesting for deputy governor all the time and go for the governorship seat by voting Jonathan Asake as the next governor of the state.
